Terms of sale

Who you are buying from
BlueLightCoffeeCo is a trading name used by Chris Frost. The business is not yet registered, so there is no company number to give. Nothing is on sale: checkout does not open, and the registered details and full postal address for service are published here before it does. Until then no contract is formed under these terms.
We trade as BlueLightCoffeeCo. You can reach a person at hello@bluelightcoffee.co.
We are not registered for VAT. The price shown is the price charged and no VAT is added at checkout.
The coffee is a pre-order
None of our coffee is roasted yet. When you buy a bag you are placing a pre-order: you pay now, we buy the green coffee and have it roasted, and we dispatch to you by 31 October 2026.
We think that date is realistic and we are not padding it. If it is going to move, we will email you before it passes, tell you the new date and why, and you can take a full refund on the spot instead. We will not let a date slide quietly and hope you do not notice.
You can cancel a pre-order at any time before it is dispatched, for any reason or none, and get every penny back including delivery. Email us. There is no form and nobody will try to talk you out of it. Refunds go back to the card you paid with, normally within three working days and always within fourteen.
Kit is made to order
Mugs, caps, tees, hoodies, beanies, flasks and stickers are produced once you order them rather than held on a shelf, and are dispatched within 10 working days.
Your right to change your mind
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you have 14 days from the day you receive your order to tell us you are cancelling, and a further 14 days to send the goods back. You do not have to give a reason.
Two honest caveats on that, and they are the only two:
- Coffee has to come back unopened. Once a bag is unsealed we cannot resell it and cannot take it back, which is the position the Regulations allow for sealed goods unsuitable for return on hygiene grounds. Unopened bags are fine.
- You pay return postage on a change of mind. We pay it when something is faulty, wrongly sent or not as described — see below.
We refund within 14 days of getting the goods back, or of you proving you sent them, whichever is sooner.
If something is wrong with it
Separately from the above, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 says goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If they are not:
- Within 30 days of delivery you can reject them for a full refund.
- After 30 days we get one chance to repair or replace, and if that fails you can have your money back.
We pay the postage both ways on anything faulty, wrongly sent or not as described. Tell us and we will sort it — you do not need to quote any of this at us.
Delivery
UK addresses only for now, and delivery is free on every order while we launch. Full detail on delivery and returns.
If we have not delivered by the date we gave you, and a delivery date was essential, you can treat the contract as at an end and take a full refund.
What we do and do not claim about the coffee
We name growing regions and nothing finer. We do not claim a farm, a lot number, a cupping score or a certification anywhere, because no supply relationship is yet in place and we will not print one until it is. The pack images on this site are design visuals rather than photographs of stock; where a pack and this site disagree, this site is what we stand behind.
Tasting notes describe what we are building towards. Each one is confirmed against a blind panel before it goes on a pack, and any note that fails is cut. We publish no caffeine figure until a finished blend has been laboratory tested, and when we do we will publish the lab, the batch and the test date with it.
The tenth bag
Every ten 250g bags sold send 250g to a UK emergency services mess room — forty bags send a full kilo. We expect that to come to around 100kg in the first year. That figure is a projection, not a cap: every ten bags sold earn a credit however many we sell. Credits accumulate and ship in consolidated runs once a station's share reaches 4kg. Stations self-certify. We publish bags earned and bags delivered, and where those two numbers differ we say why. It is a commitment we intend to keep, not a term of your purchase: it does not change what you pay or what you receive, and if the scheme has to change we will say so on this site.

Email hello@bluelightcoffee.co. We aim to answer within two working days. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
Law
The governing law and the courts are stated here before checkout opens, once the business is registered and the jurisdiction is settled. Nothing is on sale yet, so no contract is formed under these terms in the meantime.
Something here unclear, or something gone wrong with an order? Email hello@bluelightcoffee.co and a person will answer.
